FAQs

WHEN IS CAMP AND HOW DO I GO?

Dungeons & Cabins will host two long weekends this season, September 12-16 and again 27-30 in Southern California. We’ll be running the same adventure both weekends. Registration for 2025 will open in the spring. Sign up for the mailing list on the homepage to stay up to date with the latest information. (Note: you must check the box to receive these updates.)

DO I HAVE TO BE AN EXPERIENCED D&D PLAYER TO COME?

Not at all! Players of any experience level are welcome. Our DMs are pros who are happy to make sure you’re caught up and having a good time. And if there’s a demand for it, we may even host a couple virtual one-shots to get you on your feet. You don’t even need to have gone to camp before. We welcome first-timers of all kinds.

WHEN CAN I START CHARACTER BUILDING?

We’ll send out world and setting details a few weeks before camp begins. That way you’ll have enough time to write the traumatic backstory of your nightmares. Please note: a traumatic backstory isn’t mandatory or even necessary, but we know how this goes. You’ll either go that route, or you’re going to play a silly little goof, which we also love.

What is the refund policy for camp?

All reservations are final and transferable to another adventurer, but non-refundable.

What can I expect at camp?

A nostalgic camp experience, tailored for adults. Each meal from Friday dinner to Monday breakfast will be prepared by chefs in the dining hall or local restaurants in the Running Springs, CA area. You’ll sleep in classic camp bunk beds (that fit adults) in a deluxe, temperature-controlled cabin. And you’ll adventure in a weekend-long game run by a professional DM, and attempt to gain proficiency in free-time activities like hiking, archery, and relay races (adjusted for all skill levels).

I HAVE A DIFFERENT QUESTION. HALP ME?

IS THIS A LARP CAMP?

Not technically. Unless you’re dressed as a camper. Then maybe. You’re welcome to dress up or down as much as you want, within safety regulations. However, while activities at camp affect what happens in the game, the storyline will happen at the table.
